WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (June 9, 2014) – After posting an outstanding season, freshman defender Abby Junior has been selected to the VaSID University Division Women’s Lacrosse All-State Second Team.

One of the top players in the Colonial Athletic Association in 2014, Junior was selected to the league’s all-rookie team after ranking fifth in the conference with 1.44 caused turnovers per game. Additionally, the two-time CAA Rookie of the Week selection led the Tribe with 23 caused turnovers and ranked second on the squad with 24 ground balls. The Wayne, Pa., native also totaled 14 draw controls and a goal.

Highlighting Junior’s performances this season was her effort in the win against Longwood when she recorded five caused turnovers and three ground balls. The impressive outing marked the most caused turnovers by a W&M player since former All-American Sarah Jonson totaled nine (single-game school record) versus Virginia Tech in 2011.
