The William and Mary women's golf team opened the 2012-13 campaign Sunday after at the Tignanelli Towson Invitational, and entered the clubhouse tied for third at +24 (312) and just seven strokes off pace.  St. John's shot 305 to hold the first-day lead by four strokes over Delaware and the 18-team field, and those two teams also boast the individual co-leaders in Jennifer Neville and Natalie Filler, respectively, at 74 (+2).

The Tribe was led on Sunday by two freshman, including Alessandra Liu's (Cynwyd, Pa.) 75 (+3) that is tied for third.  Classmate Tina Chang (Mineola, N.Y.) was three strokes back in a tie for 12th, and redshirt-junior Katy Hutcherson (Greeneville, Tenn.) made it three players in the top-20 with her 7-over 79.  Senior Betsy Birchall (Mountain Brook, Ala.) tied for 26th overall with her round of 80, and sophomore Kellie Edelblut (New Hope, Pa.) rounded out the team with an 83 to stand tied for 45th.

The invitational concludes Monday with one round.
