The William and Mary women's golf team finished its weekend at Penn State Sunday, shooting a season-best 309 (+21) to complete the Nittany Lion Invitational in 14th place. Penn State won its own event, shooting 862 (-2) over the three days to win by a staggering 24 strokes over the 17-team field, and the Nittany Lions also claimed the individual medalist as Ellen Ceresko won by seven strokes with her 54-hole total of 208 (-8).

Tribe senior Katy Hutcherson (Greeneville, Tenn.) shot a career-best score of 74 (+2) to move up the leaderboard Sunday, finishing tied for 38th overall at 230 (+14) for the tournament. Freshman Alessandra Liu (Cynwyd, Pa.) was two strokes back in a tie for 45th after her third-round 79, and senior Betsy Birchall (Mountain Brook, Ala.) shot 77 for the second day in a row to improve to a tie for 56th. Freshman Tina Chang (Mineola, N.Y.) also came in under 80 with a 79 (+7), cutting five strokes between every round and finishing 92nd overall. Sophomore Kelly Okun (Palm Beach, Fla.) closed with a weekend-best 82, and classmate Anna McMullen (Monroe, La.) shot 89 to finish out the team effort.
William and Mary is back in action next week, playing at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 8-9. East Carolina is hosting the event at the Greenville (N.C.) Country Club.
