William and Mary Football Announces Class of 2014

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (Feb. 5, 2014) - William and Mary head football coach Jimmye Laycock has announced the Tribe's 2014 signing class, which includes 15 student-athletes who have signed National Letters of Intent this afternoon.

“We approached this class looking to address some specific needs,” Laycock said. “Beyond that, our focus was to bring in a balanced and versatile class. I am very pleased with the results, as our staff did an outstanding job of identifying and securing qualified student-athletes from all over the eastern seaboard. We are looking forward to working with this group of young men and help them reach their potential, both on the field and in the classroom.”

The incoming class is comprised of players from seven states along the east coast from Georgia to Delaware. In addition to four signees from Virginia, the class also includes players from Maryland (5), North Carolina (2), Georgia (1), Tennessee (1), West Virginia (1) and Delaware (1).

The group consists of three offensive linemen, three defensive backs, two defensive linemen, two linebackers, a quarterback, running back, wide receiver, tight end and an athlete.

The Tribe's annual Green and Gold Spring Game is scheduled for April 12 at Zable Stadium. W&M will open the 2014 season at Virginia Tech on Aug. 30.
