WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - William and Mary freshman midfielder Jackson Eskay was named the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week on Monday. The Damascus, Md., native earned the accolade after scoring a pair of goals, the first of his career, in the Tribe's 3-2 triumph over Delaware on Saturday night.
In the match against the Blue Hens, Eskay ignited the Tribe's three-goal outburst with his first career goal off an assist from redshirt freshman Chris Dunn in the 40th minute. In the 60th minute, Eskay headed home the equalizer from 10 yards out on junior Chris Perez's free kick. For the year, Eskay has tallied three points on two goals and one assist.
Tribe soccer returns to action on Friday, Nov. 2, as it closes regular season play at Hofstra in a match slated to begin at 7 p.m. The contest, which was scheduled for Wednesday was moved to Friday due to the impact of Hurricane Sandy.
