The William and Mary men's golf team finished play at the Marshall Invitational on Tuesday, shooting 293 (+9) in the final round to tie for 12th overall at +25 (877).  Virginia Tech won the 16-team event with a 54-hole score of 836 (-16), while Ohio State and Marshall tied for the second spot at 853 (+1).  Xavier's Korey Ward took the individual medal by a single stroke over Marshall's Nathan Kerns, shooting 9-under (204) on the par-71 course.

The Tribe's Nick Schafer (Arlington, Va.) earned the top spot on the team, finishing with a 74 on Tuesday to bring his total score to 218 (+5) and tie for 31st overall.  Fellow junior Michael Bekken (Blacksburg, Va.) finished one stroke back in a tie for 35th after his third-round 73 (+2), and senior Jeremy Wells (Hopewell, Va.) matched Bekken's 73 with one of his own to shoot +8 for the tournament and tie for 44th.  Junior Tanner Taddeo (Hendersonville, Tenn.) tied for 59th overall at 224 (+11), and sophomore Alex Hicks (Cape May Court House, N.J.) turned in a round of 73 to improve his standing to a tie for 75th at 228 (+15).

William and Mary now has two weeks off, before hosting the Joe Agee Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 24-25.  The tournament will be held at The Williamsburg Club.
