Beallsville, Md. - The William and Mary Tribe men's golf team played well on Monday, ending the day tied for seventh at the Georgetown Intercollegiate. Campbell leads the tournament with a total of 559 (-9).

On a day where low scores were the norm, the College carded rounds of 289 (+5) and 284 (E) to total a 36-hole score of 573 (+5). The Tribe's total of 573 (+5) is tied for the ninth best 36-hole total in school history.

Senior Brandon Parker and sophomore Jeremy Wells led the Green and Gold on Monday, each carding two-round totals of 141 (-1) to tie for 10th overall after the first day. Parker fired rounds of 70-71, while Wells flipped his scores, shooting 71-70.

Freshman Nick Schafer had a very solid day for the College, carding rounds of 70-73 to end in a tie for 20th after 36 holes with a score of 143 (+1). Schafer's 70 (-1) is the best round for the rookie in his brief collegiate career.

Senior Zach Glassman shaved eight strokes off his first round total of 78 (+8) to fire a 70 (-1) in the second. Glassman ended the day with a score of 148 (+6), tying him for 44th. Junior Scott Saal rounded out the Tribe's effort, placing 59th with a total of 153 (+11).

The William and Mary Tribe men's golf team will look to make a charge up the leaderboard on Tuesday when the College will play the third and final round of the Georgetown Intercollegiate. Results will be posted as soon as they become available.
