Q: Why did you choose the Tribe?
I was looking for an academically challenging school to go with a great athletic program. I also didn't want to be at a school that was too large and when I came on campus and met the people, I thought to myself "this is neat-o."
Q: Describe a moment when you felt the most Tribe pride...
I was sitting in my hotel room after we had lost a bunch of matches in a row. I could hardly walk and was feeling pretty down about life in general. My friends were able to pick me up and I realized in that moment that whenever I went out on the court (win or lose), I was proud of the Tribe.
Q: Take us through your pre-game mental preparation routine:
I like to listen to some A7X and when I wake up in the morning, I tell myself to "play like a champion today" because that is what Rudy would do.
Q: Do you belong to any other clubs, groups, or organizations?
No...but I have plans to start some sort of dance music group. Maybe I'll join some foreign culture group too. I like to learn about things I don't know about because then I don't feel quite as ignorant as I am.
Q: What are some community activities you or your team have done?
We held a wheelchair tennis clinic out at the courts, which I must say was a lot of fun.
Q: What is your intended or declared major and why?
Business...I want to work for myself.
Q: Describe your dream job:
Owner of multiple nightclubs to go with making my own music as well as movies. I would love to travel the world because I don't think people do that sort of thing often enough. I'd also like to start my own shoe line because not a lot of companies make a comfortable, good looking, long lasting shoe.
Q: If you could play another sport at W&M what would it be and why?
Golf....I have never played, nor do I find it interesting in the least, but it puts the least amount of physical stress on your body it seems like.
Q: Favorite team tradition/activity and why?
Pre-match gathering at Big Apple Bagel because there is nothing like a great breakfast to start the day off right.
Q: Which teammate will have the most interesting job in 10 years and why?
Me....I try to keep high goals in mind that may seem ridiculous at the time. However, I feel like even with the high chance that it won't all go as planned; I will end up doing something "interesting". I will give Anton (Andersson) an outside shot though because he is about as unpredictable as people come.
Q: What animal would best describe you and why?
Animal comes from the Latin animalis, which, of course, means "having breath." Therefore, I would have to go with human because we are all animals out there in this world.
Q: What is your favorite quote or phrase?
"When are you expecting?-this weather to change!?"- Frasier Crane
Q: What is your favorite type of food (i.e. Chinese, Mexican, etc.)?
Like I could choose one of these. Just throw them all on the table and I'll tell you how I feel about it that day.
Q: Favorite place you have visited or traveled to and why?
Williamsburg, Va. It's the place where I got my life back on track.
Q: If you could sit down for lunch with anyone in the world who would it be and why?
Nelson Mandela because the best teachers have learned from experience and can relate to people's feelings.
Q: Most addicting television show?
Q: How will you change the world (or even just one person's world)?
I will try to show people that you can't judge a person by looking at them or based on what you think you know. You have to really get to know them. Hopefully, they would then translate that into making some part of their life better and then it would go sort of like the movie "Pay it Forward" without the little boy dying in the end.
Q: Tell us something about yourself that most people don't know...
This is a silly question because most people don't know anything about me. However, if you are reading this, and you don't know me, you should know that I am a great friend and fun to be around.
Q: What was your most-commented Facebook post?
I once told Deamau5 "this song is awesome" in response to his remix of "I'm Not Alone" by Calvin Harris. I think 200 people liked my comment. It was a big moment in my life.
Q: What's number one on your bucket list and why?
No specific thing is planned because I try to live with spontaneity. I would, however, like to look back one day and say, "this has been a pretty cool life."
Q: What is your best non-athletic skill?
Making other people smile
Q: Favorite Person to follow on Twitter?
Q: What is your biggest pet peeve and why?
Someone who shows up to a party like they are too cool for the crowd. Man, that really grinds my gears.
Q: What is something you are afraid of?
Q: What is an obstacle you had to overcome in your life?
