Richmond, Va. - For the third straight week, the William and Mary women's tennis doubles team of sophomores Jeltje Loomans and Maria Belaya was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Doubles Team of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday. Fresh off a pair of nationally ranked wins over the last two weeks, the Green and Gold duo also earned its first national rankings of the season at No. 35 in the ITA/Campbell's Doubles Rankings released on Tuesday.

Belaya and Loomans ran their winning streak to seven matches with a pair of wins over the weekend in Syracuse, N.Y. The duo upended Syracuse's Emily Harman and Breanna Bachini, 8-2, in helping the Tribe to the doubles point in a 5-2 win over the Orange. In the second match of the weekend, the Tribe twosome knocked off its second nationally ranked foe of the year, downing the Yale pair of Hanna Yu and Victoria Brook, 8-6, at the No. 1 doubles post. After knocking off the current No. 25 ranked team in the country from Maryland on Feb. 19, Loomans and Belaya dealt the No. 22-ranked Yale team of Yu and Brook a setback, allowing the W&M team to move into the national rankings. The pair is currently 14-5 overall on the year, including a 7-2 dual match mark.

The Tribe returns to action with a single match at home, before returning to the road for a pair in the Lone Star State. The College hosts Wake Forest at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center on Saturday, March 3, at 11 a.m., before traveling to No. 23 Texas A&M on Tuesday, March 6, and No. 9 Texas on Thursday, March 8. The match against the Aggies is slated for 6 p.m., while the W&M-Texas contest is schedule for 2 p.m.
