Scouting the Tribe
William and Mary enters the weekend at 9-5 overall and winners of six in a row after beating UNCW 3-0 on the road last weekend.  The Tribe ranks among the top four in the CAA in six of seven statistical categories (all but service aces, where W&M is sixth), and has six players scoring two kills per set or better.  Leading the way is redshirt-sophomore Paulette Grand Pre (Laguna Beach, Va.), who has 2.49 kills per set, and Grand Pre and sophomore Manon Murray (Greensboro, N.C.) are tied for the team lead with 2.89 points per set.  On defense, senior Shaylin O'Connell (Leesburg, Va.) has 1.02 blocks per set, and redshirt-sophomore Devin Andrews-Lyssy (Santa Rosa, Calif.) is providing 3.08 digs per set.

Scouting the Pride
Hofstra is 12-7 on the year and 0-1 in the league after falling to Northeastern, 3-1, last weekend in Boston.  The Pride started the year with an impressive eight-match winning streak, but has cooled somewhat since.  The Hofstra offense is being led by sophomore Kelsie Wells, with a league-leading 4.58 kills per set, with Nikki Kinnier also among the CAA's top four with 3.46 kills per set.  Adama Aja has the CAA's best blocking total, with 1.34 per set, and Kylee Maneja is providing 4.15 digs per set.

Scouting the Huskies
Northeastern is 12-3 overall and 1-0 in the CAA with a win over Hofstra last weekend.  The Huskies are being led by Kelly Bacon at 3.5 kills per set, while reigning CAA Rookie of the Year Natalia Skiba has a league-leading 5.67 digs per set.

The Series
The Tribe holds a 16-15 all-time lead on the Pride, winning two of the last three in the series    Hofstra won last season, however, winning a 3-0 match in Hempstead.  Against Northeastern, W&M is 5-10 all-time, and looking for its first win in the series since 2009.  The Huskies have never lost in Boston, winning all five meetings.

News and Notes
- W&M's current six-match winning streak is the longest since the Tribe won seven in a row in 2009.

- 2008 was the last time that the College began conference play at 2-0 or better, winning the first four matches of the league slate en route to qualifying for the CAA Tournament.

- Following her MVP turn at the Colonial Challenge, freshman Dessi Koleva was named the CAA Rookie of the Week for the second week in a row.  She is the first Tribe player to win the award in back-to-back weeks since Cassie Crumal '11 in 2007.

- Classmate Carolyn Albright was also named Rookie of the Week this season, with her award coming on Sept. 3.  That means the Tribe provided the league's best freshman for three weeks in a row.

- With the in-season tournament schedule now complete, the College counted a total of eight all-tournament selections this season.  Senior Shaylin O'Connell was named to three of the four all-tournament teams, including both of W&M's home events as well as the Duke Invitational.  Paulette Grand Pre and Manon Murray each had two nods, with Grand Pre earning honors at the Tribe Invitational and the UNH Invitational, while Murray was one of the six-best players at both UNH and the Colonial Challenge.  Freshman Dessi Koleva was only named to one all-tournament team, the Colonial Challenge, but her terrific play lifted her to the MVP award.

- Each of the Tribe's first three victories came by a 3-1 count, the first time that each of the first three wins have seen the same score since 2000.  That season, W&M's first four wins all came by a 3-0 count.
