Williamsburg - William and Mary head men's basketball coach Tony Shaver, senior captain Marcus Kitts and members of the College's freshman class visited with local Cub Scouts at St. Bede's Church on Thursday. Freshmen Julian Boatner, Brandon Britt, Fred Heldring, Tim Rusthoven and Ben Whitlatch joined Shaver and Kitts in visiting with Troop 1932 and other dens from Williamsburg.
Shaver and the players talked about a number of topics and answered questions from the more than 40 scouts and their parents in attendance. They also let some of the scouts try on a Tribe Basketball jersey and Heldring's size 17 shoes to see what it is like to be a Tribe player. Shaver and the players also signed team posters at the conclusion of the night.
To celebrate the scouts, all boys and girls of middle school age or younger get in FREE to the 2010 Legend's Classic Subregional, Nov. 26-28, by wearing their scout uniform.
