Women’s Basketball Hosts George Mason on Senior Night

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The William and Mary women's basketball team will conclude its regular season as it plays hosts to George Mason on Wednesday, March 6.  Tip-off at Kaplan Arena in Williamsburg, Va., is slated for 7 p.m. and fans can follow the action online at with live video and stats.  Prior to Wednesday night's tip, the Tribe will honor its five-member senior class in a pregame ceremony.

All Tribe basketball home games will be available at TribeAthletics TV.  Fans can purchase an annual TribeAthletics TV package (12 months) for $69.95. The four-month TribeAthletics TV lineup is available for $39.95, while fans will be able to buy monthly passes at a price of $10.95 each.

Scouting the Tribe
William and Mary enters its last regular season game with an overall record of 7-21 and a CAA ledger of 5-12.  In its last outing, the Tribe fell at Towson, 79-63, as senior Emily Correal led the way with 15 points and eight rebounds.  Against the Tigers, W&M owned a decisive advantage in bench points, 24-0. 

Scouting George Mason
Under the direction of fifth-year head coach Jeri Porter the Patriots enter Wednesday's contest with an overall record of 9-19 and a CAA mark of 4-13.  Mason fell at James Madison, 67-56, in its last outing as senior Joyous Tharrington led the GMU charge with a career-high 23 points.  The Patriots have lost five of its last six outings. 

Senior Rahneeka Saunders is averaging a team-high 11.4 ppg, while her 85 assists are also tops on the team.  Classmate Amber Easter is netting 9.8 points per contest to go along with a GMU best 6.7 rebounds per game.  As a team, George Mason ranks 10th in the CAA in scoring (54.9), while its scoring defense stands seventh (61.4).  The Patriots have enjoyed success this season from the foul line and on the boards, as its free-throw percentage (.747) ranks second in the CAA, while its rebounding margin (+2.6) stands third.

News and Notes:
- Wednesday night's game will be the 73rd meeting between W&M and George Mason, as the Patriots own the series advantage, 50-22.  Earlier this season, Mason squeaked past the Tribe, 57-56, on a late second shot at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va.  Senior Janine Aldridge paced the Green and Gold on that Sunday afternoon with 16 points and 11 rebounds.  In a back and fourth contest that saw six ties and 12 lead changes, W&M finished the contest with 24 points in the paint and 22 bench points.

- Five seniors will play their final game at Kaplan Arena on Wednesday evening. The Tribe's 2013 senior class is made up of Janine Aldridge, Emily Correal, Taylor Hilton, Jaclyn McKenna and Chanel Murchison.

Janine Aldridge - College's all-time leader in 3-pointers made with 301, which also ranks fifth in CAA history ... Has appeared in a school record 126 games  ... Is one steal away from setting a new W&M career standard ... Netted a school record nine - 3-pointers in the Tribe's contest at Northeastern last season ... Ranks 10 th on the W&M all-time scoring list with 1,302 points.

Emily Correal - Has made 112 career starts, which rank second in school history ... Opened the season with 24 points and 21 rebounds against East Carolina as she became just the third player in program history to record a 20-point and 20-rebound game ... Her 21 rebounds vs. the Pirates also tied the W&M single-game record ... Ranks eighth on the Tribe's all-time scoring list with 1,328 points ... Scored a career-high 30 points in the Green and Gold's contest at North Carolina A&T on Dec. 21.

Taylor Hilton - Has made 42 starts in 102 career appearances ... Has tallied 656 points and 394 rebounds over the course of her career ... Ranks 15th in school history with 190 offensive rebounds ... Netted a career-high 23 points in the Tribe's win over Austin Peay earlier this season ... Pulled down a career best 13 rebounds in the contest at Cornell on Dec. 30.

Jaclyn McKenna - A two-time All-CAA  Academic First Team honoree ... Her career field goal percentage of .478 ranks fourth in school history  ... Has played in 116 games, which ranks sixth in the W&M record books ... Tied a career-high with 11 rebounds in the Tribe's game at Hofstra on Jan. 6 ... Scored a career-high 24 points at VCU during the 2010-11 campaign.

Chanel Murchison - Has been a fixture in the starting lineup over the past two seasons ... High-energy player who has often been tasked with guarding the oppositions top offensive threat ... During the 2009-10 season, she netted six points to go along with six rebounds and two assists in W&M's game at Hofstra ... An invaluable leader on and off the court, she enters her final game at Kaplan Arena with 129 career points and 168 rebounds.
