WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William and Mary’s new women’s basketball head coach, Ed Swanson, recently sat down with TribeAthletics.com to discuss taking over the Tribe program.

In addition to talking about what drew him to Williamsburg, Swanson discussed his success at Sacred Heart, his coaching philosophy, and his vision for the program. The video feature is available by the above link or by clicking here.

Swanson is the fifth women’s basketball coach in the school’s Division I history. He spent the previous 23 seasons at his alma mater Sacred Heart, where he guided the Pioneers to a 406-264 record.

During his career, Swanson was a four-time Northeast Conference Coach of the Year and led Sacred Heart to five postseason appearances (three NCAA Tournaments). Currently, he ranks 40th among active head coaches with 406 career wins.
