Q:
Why did you choose the Tribe?
After visiting the campus at the end of my junior year in
high school, I immediately knew that William and Mary would be a perfect fit
for me. It was after walked the campus, attended a football game, and met my
future teammates that I knew I would never want to go anywhere else.
Q:
Describe a moment when you felt the most Tribe pride...
There have been so many moments in the past few years that I
have felt tribe pride, with many of my favorite ones occurring at gymnastics
meets with my team. My favorite so far though was at convocation, where after
walking through the Wren Building, the rest of my class and I were met by all
our screaming teammates who had hurried over from practice to see us and made a
tunnel for us to run through. That's when I knew I was so blessed to be part of
an amazing team and could not wait to start my journey as part of the Tribe!
Q:
Take us through your pre-meet mental preparation routine:
I don't have too many specific pre-meet rituals, but one
thing I have done since I have been little has stuck with me...every morning of a
meet, I have to get up and do a full turn as soon as I get out of bed...I make
sure it's the best possible one I can do, then tell myself I'm on that day!
Some of my classmates usually remind me to do it if I somehow forget.
Q: Do
you belong to any other clubs, groups, or organizations?
I am currently starting my second year as a member of SAAC,
and will hopefully soon be part of a volunteer group at Sentara hospital this
fall.
Q:
What are some community activities you or your team has done?
As a team over the past couple years, we have done multiple
JDRF walks where some girls have walked and others have just helped out, as
well as the Mayflower Marathon where we helped load trucks with food donations.
We also like to help out at a local club gymnastics meet (WISC) each year to
show how much we appreciate the support the club and team members have for us!
Q:
What is your intended or declared major and why?
Last year, I declared
a Neuroscience and Kinesiology double major. I chose these because I
find any topic in the medical field to be extremely interesting, and know these
majors will help to prepare me for a job in the medical field.
Q:
Describe your dream job:
My dream job would be the a team doctor for a professional
sports team...more specifically the Cleveland Indians! Then I would get to be
involved with the medical field while still being able to go watch my favorite
team play everyday :)
Q: If
you could play another sport at W&M what would it be and why?
Field hockey! My roommate is a field hockey player and I
think she's pretty awesome, so I think it would be so fun to be on a team with
her! I know I would be absolutely terrible at it though because it looks so
challenging!
Q:
Favorite team tradition/activity and why?
My favorite team tradition is the huddle before meets. I
love the feeling of standing with my teammates all around, praying for a safe
meet, and knowing that we all are there because we love the sport! Then the
cheering that follows is SO much fun!
Q:
Which teammate will have the most interesting job in 10 years and why?
I think Jenny Ware will have the most interesting job. She's
so driven and is always staying busy, so I know she will have something really
cool to do in 10 years because she'll make sure of it!
Q:
What animal would best describe you and why?
I think a lion would be a pretty good fit. Not just because I
had to be one for Halloween one year because of my hair color, but because
lions are strong and brave.
Q:
What is your favorite quote or phrase?
"I can do all things
through Christ who strengthens me."
Q:
What is your favorite type of food (i.e. Chinese, Mexican, etc.)?
I love both Mexican and Italian food...it's a close call!
Q:
Favorite place you have visited or traveled to and why?
My favorite place I ever visited was Paris....I absolutely
loved the Eiffel Tower and exploring the city.
Q:
Most addicting television show?
Criminal Minds for sure.
Q:
Tell us something about yourself that most people don't know...
I still have a teddy bear I brought to college that's been
to every gymnastics meet I've ever
competed at!
Q:
What was your most-commented Facebook post?
Not sure exactly....I think something I posted when I
officially committed to William and Mary!
Q:
What is your best non-athletic skill?
Crafting! I love coming up with fun/creative ideas and
seeing the finished product.
Q: What
is your biggest pet peeve and why?
When people are soooo slow...shout out to Stacia Ruse, who
definitely is the slowest person I know :)
Q:
What is something you are afraid of?
Not living life to its fullest and having regrets. I want to
make sure I enjoy each and every day and take advantage of all opportunities
that come my way.
