WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The William and Mary Tribe Club recently held its annual BB&T Golf Tournament at Colonial Williamsburg's Golden Horseshoe Country Club's Green Course.
Nearly 100 players competed in this year's event, which raised funds for the W&M Athletics Department and its student-athletes.
In addition to the title sponsor, BB&T, Jim and Jane Kaplan (lunch sponsor), Diamond Springs and the Myers Smith Group at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (reception sponsors) were instrumental in the event's success.
Bob Canfield, Hunter Wells, Rick Bealert and Ben Williams comprised the 1st Flight championship team, while Terry Driscoll, Tom Driscoll, Mike Schemering and Michael Driscoll teamed up to win the 2nd Flight title.
The Tribe Club is essential for excellence, as the College's athletics department receives no state funds towards its operating budget. Every year, the Tribe Club relies on alumni and friends of the department to raise more than $2.5 million in unrestricted funding.
