Martin Family Stadium, the beautiful new home of the Tribe’s lacrosse and soccer programs, just got a little more welcoming to its friends in the officiating community as the referee locker room was recently named in honor of alumnae, Julie McGravey ’93.

The honor was made possible by the generous gift of $10,000 by McGravey’s fellow teammate, and close friend, Hylah Boyd Ballowe ‘94.

The pair played for William and Mary Athletics Hall of Fame Coach, Feffie Barnhill, and earned All-CAA honors during the 1993 season, while McGravey also claimed second-team All-America recognition the same year.

The gift to the Tribe Club will go towards funding for the lacrosse program. Tribe Club is a group of alumni and friends of William and Mary Athletics that was established in 1948 to create greater support for student-athletes in their pursuit of academic and athletic excellence. Since athletics receives no aid from the state, the Tribe Club stands as the sole provider of scholarships to William and Mary student-athletes.
