With the beautiful and exclusive Two-Rivers Golf Course as its backdrop, the Tribe Club hosted the annual W&M Pro-Am this past week.  One of the premier events on the Tribe Club events calendar, the Pro-Am generated more than $28,000 for its Olympic Sports programs.

Approximately a dozen foursomes hit the links, with the group from Sentara Health Care Systems, led by CEO Dave Bernd, taking top overall honors.

While Bernd’s group topped the leader board, Barb Wetters and George McDonnell earned the honors for closest to the pin on holes seven and 17, respectively.

Even those who didn’t achieve outstanding accomplishments on the links took away a specially fitted Odyssey putter as part of the event gift package.

Additionally, during the post-round lunch, catered by the Two-Rivers Country Club kitchen, a raffle was held with prizes that ranged from $100 gift cards for various restaurants in the Williamsburg area to a Tribe golf club bag.

The Tribe Club is a group of alumni and friends of William and Mary Athletics that was established in 1948 to create greater support for student-athletes in their pursuit of academic and athletic excellence. Since athletics receives no aid from the state, the Tribe Club stands as the sole provider of scholarships to William and Mary student-athletes.
