The College of William and Mary cross country and track and field teams will host the Massey Cancer Center 5K Run for Research, taking place on Friday, Nov. 8 at 4:45 p.m.  The race will begin and end at Zable Stadium and feature a course that tours the W&M campus.

The Massey Cancer Run has been a Tribe tradition for over 20 years, and has helped raise more than $100,000 for research at the Massey Cancer Center.  Organized with large thanks to Charles and Ginny Crone '83 and their family, as well as Randy ‘71 and Shelby Hawthorne '71 and the W&M cross country and track programs, the event welcomes runners, walkers, and relay teams to a race around the historic W&M campus.  Participants can register now at Massey5K.com, and donations without registration are also accepted.

The Massey Cancer Center at the Medical College of Virginia has been at the forefront of cancer research in the United States since it first opened its doors in 1974.  One of just 67 cancer centers around the nation certified by the National Cancer Institute, Massey is a vital resource for cancer research, treatment, and clinical trials, while also providing a top-flight training ground for oncologists and researchers.  The Center treats an average of nearly 14,000 patients annually, and includes more than 400 clinicians that specialize in various types of cancer.
