WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (Feb. 14, 2017) — After posting outstanding performances in the William & Mary men's gymnastics team's victory against Illinois-Chicago at the Peach Tree Invitational on Saturday, a pair of Tribe standouts have garnered distinction from the Eastern College Athletic Conference.
 
Senior Rob Meyer was selected as the league's gymnast of the week, while freshman Tim O'Neill earned rookie of the week honors.
 
Meyer claimed titles in two of the three events in which he competed, winning both rings (13.8) and parallel bars (13.9). Additionally, he placed second on pommel horse with a 13.25.
 
The Maryville, Tenn., native currently ranks second in the league on parallel bars (14.117), fourth on rings (13.767) and seventh on pommel horse (13.283).
 
O'Neill won the vault title with a career-high 14.3 and placed second on floor with a career-best 13.8. The impressive effort on vault ranks tied for fifth in the program's record book, while both scores represent the highest by a W&M gymnast this season.  
 
The Cleveland Heights, Ohio native currently ranks fifth in the conference on floor (13.517) and tied for fifth on vault (14.1).
 
After an open date this weekend, the Tribe will return to action when it travels to Army for a tri-meet with Springfield on Feb. 25.
