WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (March 10, 2017) – The William & Mary women's gymnastics team concluded its regular-season slate with 193.100 – 192.450 victory against Temple at Kaplan Arena on Friday evening.
W&M's impressive team score represented a season high, while it also earned a season best on floor (48.600) during the meet's final rotation to help secure the exciting win. Additionally, the Tribe posted the top team scores in three of the four events.
Senior
Briana Gironda highlighted the Tribe's individual performances by claiming titles in all-around (38.675) and bars (9.800), while sophomore
Aaliyah Kerr won floor (9.850).
The Green & Gold opened the meet on vault with a 47.900, which proved to be the lone event in which it did not post a better score than the Owls. Freshman
Erika Marr led the way by placing third with a 9.675.

Olivia O'Connor and sophomore
Katie Webber also contributed to the team total with a pair of 9.700's.
Freshman
Caroline Caponi was the Tribe's top performer on beam and placed third with a 9.700, as the team recorded a 48.125.
Although Temple held a narrow edge heading into the final rotation (144.775 – 144.500), W&M closed the meet with a season-high 48.600 on floor. Tribe gymnasts registered the top two scores, as Kerr (9.850) and O'Connor (9.725) placed first and second, respectively.
While Gironda tallied the highest all-around score (38.675), O'Connor nearly tied her classmate for the meet's top honors with a 38.650.
The Tribe will return to action next Saturday when it looks to earn the program's third conference title in the last four years at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship hosted by Brown.
