Tribe Men's Tennis Seeded No. 3 at CAA Championship

RICHMOND, Va. - The William & Mary men's tennis team will be the No. 3 seed in the 2017 Colonial Athletic Association Championship, the league office announced on Monday. For the second-straight year, the Green and Gold will face Drexel, the No. 6 seed, in the quarterfinals on Friday, April 21, at 1 p.m. Elon University hosts the 2017 CAA Championship at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center and the Burlington Tennis Center, April 21-23.

UNCW, who won back-to-back league titles in 2013 and 2014, is the No. 1 seed in the event followed by Elon, W&M, Charleston, James Madison, Drexel, Hofstra and Delaware. The Seahawks face Delaware at 9 a.m. in the quarterfinals on Friday, while defending champion Charleston and James Madison square off at the same time. In the 1 p.m. quarterfinals, the Tribe, which won the 2015 crown, meets the Dragons, and Elon hosts Hofstra. All four quarterfinal matches will be played at the Burlington Tennis Center.

The CAA Semifinals are set for 2 p.m. on Saturday with both matches being played simultaneously. The CAA Championship match is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 23. The semifinals and championship will be played at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center on the campus of Elon University. The winner of the CAA Championship will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
