TOWSON, Md. (Jan. 14, 2018) – The William & Mary women's gymnastics team posted its best season-opening score since 2015 en route to a third-place finish at a tri-meet hosted by Towson on Sunday afternoon.
The host Tigers claimed the team title with a 194.725 and were followed by Temple (191.575) and W&M (190.475). The Tribe's best collective performance came on vault where it posted the meet's top team score (48.325).
Freshman
Katie Waldman led the Green & Gold in her collegiate debut, as she placed third in all-around (38.375), vault (9.750) and beam (9.750).
Junior
Aaliyah Kerr also recorded a third-place finish on floor (9.825) to help highlight the Tribe's individual performances.

Vault, 48.325 – Led by Waldman's third-place finish (9.750), W&M earned the meet's top score in the event. Freshman

Katie Webber (9.675) also contributed to the team total.
Bars, 47.275 – Sophomore
Taylor White led the Tribe with a 9.675 to tie for sixth, while sophomore
Evan Pakshong also performed well with a 9.650.
Beam, 47.075 – Waldman was W&M's top performer in the event with her third-place effort (9.750), while junior
Aaliyah Kerr placed second on the squad in the event (9.425).
Floor, 47.800 – Kerr tied for third to lead the Tribe with a 9.825, while Waldman narrowly missed out on another top-three finish with a 9.800.
All-Around – Waldman was W&M's top all-arounder (38.375), while Graceyn Gordon also competed in all four events in her collegiate debut and recorded a 36.925.

The Tribe will return to action when it competes at a tri-meet hosted by NC State (with Ball State) next Saturday at 4 p.m.
