RALEIGH, N.C. (Jan. 20, 2018) – The William & Mary women's gymnastics team improved its team total by nearly three points from last week's season-opening performance at Towson en route to a third-place finish at a tri-meet hosted by NC State on Saturday afternoon.
The host Wolfpack claimed the team title with a 196.350 and was followed by Ball State (194.750) and W&M (193.300).
Freshman
Katie Waldman highlighted the Tribe's individual performances by tying for third on vault (9.800) and placing fourth in all-around (38.925).
Event Recaps
Vault, 48.600 – Led by Waldman's third-place finish (9.800), W&M's impressive team total was just .05 shy of tying for the 10th-best mark in school history in the event. Sophomore

Mary Graceyn Gordon posted a pair of 9.700's.
Bars, 48.100 – Waldman and sophomore
Evan Pakshong led the Tribe on bars by posting a 9.775 to tie for sixth, while sophomore Tayler White earned a 9.675 to contribute to the team total.
Beam, 48.175 – Waldman and junior
Aaliyah Kerr recorded W&M's top mark on beam with a 9.750, while Gordon also placed among the top 10 with a 9.700.
Floor, 48.425 – Kerr and sophomore
Elizabeth Snoddy led the Tribe on floor with a pair of 9.750's to tie for 10th.
All-Around – Waldman was W&M's lone all-around competitor and placed fourth with a career-high 38.925.

W&M will return to action when it competes at a quad-meet hosted by George Washington with Kent State and UW-Oshkosh on Feb. 4.
