NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Feb. 17, 2018) – The William & Mary women's gymnastics team continued its streak of impressive performances with another good showing on Saturday afternoon but fell at Yale, 194.700-193.000, in a dual meet matchup of Eastern College Athletic Conference opponents.
Katie Waldman and
Aaliyah Kerr highlighted the Tribe's individual efforts by winning vault and floor, respectively. Waldman claimed the vault title with a career-high 9.825, while Kerr earned a season-best 9.875 to win floor.
Evan Pakshong also performed well and tied for second on bars by equaling a career high with a 9.800.
Event Recaps
Vault, 48.425 – Led by Waldman's winning performance, W&M earned a 48.425 on vault, which bested Yale's team total of 48.375.
Erika Marr also contributed to the Tribe's impressive effort with a 9.725 to place second on the team in the event.
Bars, 48.500 – A number of Tribe standouts performed well on bars, as the squad recorded its second-best total of the season in the event. Pakshong garnered runner-up honors by equaling her career high (9.800), while
Caroline Caponi (9.775), Waldman (9.725) and Marr (9.700) also came up big for W&M.
Beam, 47.775 –
Madison Dwyer led W&M on beam with a season-high 9.725, while Waldman placed second on the squad with a 9.650.
Floor, 48.300 – Kerr's winning effort with a season high highlighted the Tribe's performance on floor and helped contribute to the team's 48.300. Waldman finished second on the squad in the event with a 9.750.
All-Around – Waldman placed third in all-around with a career-high 38.950, while
Taylor White also competed in all four events and recorded a 37.800.

W&M will return to action when it competes in a dual meet at NC State next Saturday at 4 p.m.
