RALEIGH, N.C. (Feb. 24, 2018) – The William & Mary women's gymnastics team posted its second-best score of the season but fell in a dual meet at NC State, 195.725-193.325, on Saturday afternoon.
In addition to registering a team total of at least 193.000 for a program-record fifth-consecutive meet, W&M earned a season-high score on beam (48.525).
Evan Pakshong highlighted the Tribe's individual performances and placed second on beam with a career-high 9.825.
Event Recaps
Vault, 48.000 – Led by
Erika Marr's 9.725 and
Katie Waldman's 9.700, W&M earned a 48.000 on vault.
Bars, 48.250 – Waldman led the way on bars with a 9.725, while Pakshong added a 9.700 to help the Tribe tally a 48.250.
Beam, 48.525 – W&M recorded a season-best 48.525 on beam and was led by Pakshong's career-high 9.825, which was the meet's second-best score in the event.
Caroline Caponi (9.750) and
Taylor White (9.675) also posted career highs to contribute to the team's season-best total.
Floor, 48.550 –
Aaliyah Kerr was the Tribe's to scorer on floor with a 9.825 and helped the squad record its second-best mark of the season in the event.
Elizabeth Snoddy also came up big with a career-high 9.775.
All-Around – Waldman led a trio of Tribe all-arounders, as she posted a 38.725. Caponi (38.525) and White (37.775) also competed in all four events.
