WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (March 12, 2018)—William & Mary head football coach Jimmye Laycock has announced the hiring of Jerry Taylor as the team's wide receivers coach.
 
Taylor comes to W&M after spending the last four years at Dartmouth where he coached wide receivers during the past three seasons. He also served as the offensive quality control coach for one year with the Big Green.
 
Taylor was instrumental in the success of Dartmouth's wide receivers, as at least one member of his position group garnered All-Ivy League honors during all three of his seasons leading the unit. Ryan McManus (first team) and Victor Williams (second team) combined for 111 receptions for 1,443 yards in 2015, while Hunter Hagdorn was honored as the 2016 Ivy League Rookie of the Year. Hagdorn also garnered second-team all-conference honors in 2016 and 2017.
 
In addition to helping Dartmouth secure the 2015 Ivy League title, the program's first in 19 years, Taylor helped the Big Green compile a 29-11 overall record and a 18-10 mark in conference play.
 
During his stint at Dartmouth, Taylor also served an internship with the Buffalo Bills during preseason camp in 2016 and worked with the organization's wide receivers.  
 
Prior to joining the Big Green staff, Taylor spent the 2013 season as the wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator at Virginia State.
 
He also served as the tight ends coach and travel coordinator at Saint Francis (Pa.) for a year and was on staff as an assistant to both the secondary coach and quarterbacks coach at Richmond in 2011.
 
Taylor also served as a quarterbacks coach at several Nike Football combines after playing one season at Bowie State in Maryland.
 
Taylor earned a degree in business administration from Averett University in 2012.
 
He and his wife, Narissa, a former basketball player at Drexel, are both Richmond, Va., natives and have a son, Grayson, who was born in August.
