WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (Jan. 15, 2016)— The William & Mary women's gymnastics team was edged by Temple, 190.150 – 190.100, in its home opener at Kaplan Arena on Friday evening.
Senior standout
Brittany Stover claimed the vault title (9.800) and was the top all-arounder (38.225), while freshman
Aaliyah Kerr posted the meet's top score on floor (9.750).
W&M opened the night on vault and earned a 48.075, as Stover and freshman
Katie Webber (9.725) recorded the top two individual scores in the event.
The Tribe then moved to bars where Stover (9.650) and sophomore
Monica Ouellet (9.625) placed second and third, respectively, to help the team total a 47.825.
In the third rotation of the evening, the College registered a 46.950 on beam as junior
Olivia O'Connor recorded the team's top mark with a 9.650.
Led by Kerr's winning score on floor, W&M wrapped up the meet in the event with a 47.250. Stover and junior
Briana Gironda also added to the team total with a pair of 9.600s.
In addition to Stover's winning all-around mark, O'Connor (37.750) and Gironda (37.625) also competed in all four events.
The Tribe will return to action when it competes at West Virginia next Sunday at 2 p.m.
