Men’s Cross Country Ranked to 29th in Latest NCAA Poll

WILLIAMSBURG, VA - William and Mary men’s cross country is ranked 29th in the latest MONDO NCAA Division I Men’s Cross Country National Poll. The Tribe, the only CAA program to be included in the rankings, received 31 points in the voting. Defending national champion Stanford topped the poll with 479 points. The poll is conducted by the United States Cross Country Coaches Association. The next poll will not be released until November 3rd.

The College competed this past Saturday at the NCAA Pre-Nationals in Cedar Falls, IA. Racing in the Gold Race, the Tribe took 12th in the contest, which boasted two of the top-five ranked teams and eight schools that were ranked in the top-20. Three-time All-American Ed Moran (Dayton, NJ) appeared in position to capture the individual title as he shared the lead at halfway with a split time of 11:49. Moran ended a strong sixth after clocking a 23:38.1. The squad also ran at its own Tribe Open in Williamsburg where freshman David Murphy (Warwick, RI) paced the team in third place.

William and Mary has a week off before gearing up to defend its CAA title for a fourth straight year. The CAA Championships will be held in Towson, MD on November 1st.
