William and Mary Athletics and its radio flagship stations, "The Tide" and WBACH, will once again be bringing you all of the action and excitement of Tribe football in 2007.
One half-hour before game time, the William and Mary Bookstore Tribe Sports Network broadcast begins with "The Game Day Show with Jay Colley and Bob Sheeran". The format of the Game Day Show will be the same as previous years, including a game day interview with Laycock, with the Tribe's veteran broadcast duo of Colley and Sheeran hosting the show.
The broadcast team of Jay Colley and Bob Sheeran will once again relay the excitement of Tribe football over the airwaves.
A mass communications graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, Colley has been a fixture of the Tribe’s sports broadcasts for over 20 years. In 2002, Colley was granted honorary alumnus status by William and Mary. Colley also covers the Tribe basketball squad.
Bob Sheeran has never drifted far from the beat of W&M sports. A 1967 graduate of the College, Sheeran served as W&M’s sports information director for 16 years before entering private business in 1985. He has teamed up with Colley for the last 22 years as part of the football broadcasts and has also served as an integral part of all W&M Quarterback Club booster functions since his graduation. A testament to his dedication to the College was witnessed in 2003 as an endowment was organized in his name by HEYFARL (a W&M football booster organization) to provide scholarship support for a Tribe walk-on football player.
The William and Mary Athletics Department is in its second year of a partnership with 92.3 FM “The Tide” and 107.9 FM “WBACH”. The partnership provides the College with solid coverage of the Peninsula, as the station’s combined footprint reaches from the eastern areas of Richmond to the western parts of Norfolk. Tribe fans in Richmond will also be able to catch the action on WCLM 1450 AM, which returns for its third season as an affiliate. Longstanding network member WBRG 1050 AM in Lynchburg also returns in 2007 to carry Tribe Football action.
W&M fans outside of the network’s coverage area don’t have to miss a single play this fall, as all games will once again be simulcast online, free of charge, through the College’s streaming audio partner, Stretch Internet, on www.TribeAthletics.com.
