Women’s Cross Country Receiving Votes in Latest Poll

WILLIAMSBURG - William and Mary’s women’s cross country team, idle since opening the season on September 10, fell down the latest national poll but is still receiving votes. The poll, conducted by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, was released Monday afternoon and has defending national champion Stanford in the top spot.

The consecutive bye weeks also had an effect on the Tribe’s regional ranking, as the team fell from fourth to sixth. The College will be back in action this weekend when it hosts the first annual Colonial Inter-Regional Challenge. 10 teams are making the trek to Williamsburg for the meet, including No. 23 Georgetown and LaSalle, who is also receiving votes.
