Women’s Cross Country Receiving Votes in National Polls

WILLIAMSBURG - For the second week in a row, the William and Mary women’s cross country team is receiving votes in the USTFCCCA national poll, just outside of the top 30. Stanford continues to solidify the hold on the top spot, with Michigan close behind.

The Tribe held steady in the number six spot in the Southeast Region as teams moved around it. Virginia Tech, who edged W&M for second place at the Colonial Inter-Regional this past weekend, moved past the Tribe into fifth, while North Carolina fell back to seventh.

William and Mary is off this weekend, but returns to action in two races on October 14. The team’s top runners will travel to Terre Haute, Indiana for the Brooks Pre-National Invitational, while the rest of the team will be in Williamsburg hosting the Tribe Open.
