Women’s Golf Ninth At Spider Invitational

GLEN ALLEN, VA - William and Mary is in ninth place this evening at the Spider Invitational, after shooting 344 in the first round on Monday. Virginia holds a five-stroke lead in the 12-team field, and High Point’s AnnMarie Dalton shot the low round of the day at 74 on the par-72, 6,038 yard course.

Senior captain Melissa DePuy (Naples, FL) and freshman Brielle Paolini (Virginia Beach, VA) share the team lead after rounds of 83, and are tied for 22nd overall. Juniors Misha Harvey (Forest, VA) and Kara Siford (Manassas, VA) are tied for 46th after carding 89 apiece, and freshman Morgan Stepanek (Guilford, CT) rounds out the scoring five, tied for 56th in the 70-player field. Classmate Robyn English (Warwick, RI) shot 85 and is tied for 29th, competing as an individual. Also flying solo, sophomore Ellie Costello (Wilmette, IL) stands tied with Harvey and Siford after shooting 89 on the day.

The Spider Invitational concludes with one round tomorrow.
