Men’s Golf Tied for 10th at Marshall

HUNTINGTON, WVA - The William and Mary men’s golf team is tied for 10th after the first round at the Marshall Invitational on Friday. The second round of play was suspended due to weather and darkness, and will be completed tomorrow morning before the final 18 is teed off. Ball State leads the field of 16 at 2-under. Penn State’s Kevin Foley and Marquette’s Mike Van Sickle are tied for the lead after shooting 3-under 68s.

Senior Ryan Price (Chantilly, Va.) was the top Tribe linksman in the first round, shooting a one-over 72 to stand tied in a gaggle at 14th. Sophomore Doug Hurson (Bethesda, Md.) is one stroke back, tied for 26th. Senior captain Matt Brantingham (Richmond, Va.) and sophomore Brent Paladino (Kensington, Conn.) are each tied for 38th after shooting 74. Junior Jimmy Femino (Manassas, Va.) rounded out the team with a solid round of 80.

The Marshall Invitational concludes tomorrow.
