Doug Hurson Named CAA Golfer of the Week

Sophomore Finished Eighth at Marshall Invitational

RICHMOND, VA - The Colonial Athletic Association today honored sophomore Doug Hurson (Bethesda, Md.) as the Golfer of the Week for his outstanding play at the Marshall Invitational. It is the first such honor for a Tribe golfer.

Hurson led the College at the snow-shortened Marshall Invitational over the weekend, shooting 73-70 to finish alone in eighth-place overall. It marked the fifth time in eight tournaments this season that he has been the number one linksman for the Tribe, and 11th in his two years on the team. This season, Hurson leads the team with a 73.76 stroke average, which would rank as the fourth-best single-season average in school history. He also leads the team in overall record, compiling a mark of 531-115-21 (.812).

Next up for Hurson and the Tribe is the CAA Championships, which are being held April 20-22 at The Homestead in Hot Springs, Virginia.
