Men’s Golf In Sixth at CAA Championships

HOT SPRINGS, VA - William and Mary sits in sixth place at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships after the first round of action Friday at The Homestead. Georgia State holds a two-shot clubhouse lead over Virginia Commonwealth with two rounds left to play. VCU’s Jens Fahrbring and John Murphy from ODU are tied for the individual lead at 69 (1-under).

Team Standings

Senior Ryan Price (Chantilly, Va.) put together the best round for W&M on Friday, shooting 74 to stand tied for 11th overall. Sophomores Doug Hurson (Bethesda, Md.) and Brent Paladino (Kensington, Conn.) are tied for 15th after shooting 75, and senior captain Matt Brantingham (Richmond, Va.) is one shot behind them, tied for 25th. Junior Jimmy Femino (Manassas, Va.) rounded out the Tribe effort in a tie for 40th after shooting 78.

The CAA Championships continue with one round on Saturday and one on Sunday.
