Women’s Golf Stays Fifth at CAA Championships

HOT SPRINGS, VA - William and Mary put together another solid round today at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships and maintained its position at fifth in the 10-team event. UNC Wilmington opened its lead over the field by 17 strokes in the round, and currently sits 22 ahead of second-place Georgia State. The Seahawks’ Ashley Tait and 2007 CAA Golfer of the Year Carmen Perez-Narbon are tied for the lead at 149 (+5).

Team and Individual Standings

Junior Erika Oldenkamp (Hinsdale, Ill.) is all along in fourth place after shooting 75 today, and stands only three shots behind the leaders. Freshman Morgan Stepanek (Guilford, Conn.) is tied for 18th at 160 (+16), and senior captain Melissa DePuy (Naples, Fla.) is tied at 24th after cutting five strokes to shoot 79. Junior Marissa Sprick (Windermere, Fla.) stands tied for 27th, and freshman Brielle Paolini (Virginia Beach, Va.) is tied for 42nd after cutting two strokes between rounds.

The CAA Championships conclude today.
