Men’s Golf Tied For Seventh After Two Rounds at Cavalier Classic

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - With one round left to play at the Cavalier Classic, William and Mary’s men’s golf team stands tied for seventh, only 12 strokes out of the top three. The University of Virginia is playing the part of uncharitable hosts, as they lead the ten-team field by 18 strokes. UNC Greensboro’s Drew Younts is the clubhouse leader at 7-under.

Senior Ryan Price (Chantilly, Va.) is on a crusade to finish his collegiate career at the top, as he stands tied for second at +1 after rounds of 74 and 71. Sophomore Doug Hurson (Bethesda, Md.) shot 75-77 in the day’s two rounds, and is tied for 21st. Classmate Brent Paladino (Kensington, Conn.) is tied for 31st at 11-over. Senior captain Matt Brantingham (Richmond, Va.) cut three strokes between rounds to improve to 45th, and junior Jimmy Femino (Manassas, Va.) posted a four-shot improvement to move into a tie for 51st.

The Cavalier Classic finishes with 18 holes tomorrow.
