Men’s Golf Finishes Sixth at Cavalier Classic

Ryan Price Ties for Tenth at 8-over

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Playing in threatening conditions, William and Mary’s men’s golf team closed its season today with a final round 303 to move up to sixth at the Cavalier Classic. The University of Virginia won the 10-team affair by 24 strokes over runner-up UNC Greensboro, but the Spartans provided the individual medalist, as Drew Younts won with a score of -2.

Senior Ryan Price (Chantilly, Va.) led the team in the final tournament of his career, tying for 10th overall at +8. Sophomore Doug Hurson (Bethesda, Md.) finished in a tie for 21st, four strokes back. Classmate Brent Paladino (Kensington, Conn.) improved two strokes from the second round to finish in a tie for 35th, and senior captain Matt Brantingham (Richmond, Va.) cut four strokes from his second-round score to close his collegiate career with a 74, and was tied for 37th. Junior Jimmy Femino (Manassas, Va.) rounded out the team effort in a tie for 45th after improving five strokes between rounds.

William and Mary’s season is now finished.
