Brielle Paolini Named to NGCA All-American Scholar Team

Freshman Earns Academic Honor After Leading Team in 2006-07

CORAL SPRINGS, FLA - The National Golf Coaches Association announced its annual list of All-American Scholar Teams on Monday, and for the first time in school history, William and Mary has placed one of its own on the list.

Freshman Brielle Paolini (Virginia Beach, Va.) was named to the Division I team after a season which saw her as one of only two Tribe golfers to complete every one of the Tribe’s rounds. She led the team in two events during the season, and had a round of 77 in four of five spring tournaments. She helped make history at the Bobcat Desert Classic in February, when all five of the Tribe’s golfers hit in the 70s in both the first and third rounds, the only two times in school history that has happened. Her season stroke average of 82.84 ranked third on the team, and is 13th in school history among all freshmen.

Membership on the NGCA All-American Scholar Team is earned by maintaining a GPA of better than 3.5, and by playing in more than 50% of the team’s competitive rounds.
