Tribe Holds Scrimmage at Zable Stadium

Williamsburg - William and Mary held an extended scrimmage of the preseason Saturday night at Zable Stadium, ending a productive week of practice in preparation for the Tribe’s season opener at home against Delaware on Thursday, August 30th.

“Overall, I was very pleased with the effort and intensity tonight,” said head coach Jimmye Laycock. “The coaching staff put the players in a number of good and difficult situations, and I thought we handled it pretty well.”

The Tribe worked through a variety of game-simulated situations and scenarios during the scrimmage.

“We were able to take a lot of snaps and played hard,” added Laycock. “It was a good ending to the week. We’re still evaluating and looking at ways to get better and keep improving. The guys are working hard.”

The opener is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Zable and will make the inaugural CAA Football contest.
