WILLIAMSBURG - The William and Mary women’s swimming and diving team will begin its defense of the Colonial Athletic Association crown this season with a bumper crop of fresh talent to go with the gold-medal experience of the returning lettermen. A total of seven swimmers and two divers will join the team this fall.
Sophomore Lindsay Guers (Orwigsburg, Pa.) comes to the College from Florida State University, where she helped the Seminoles to a 9-1 season and a second-place finish at the ACC Championships. She placed third or better in six of her 12 individual races last season, and third or better in 10 of 14 relays. At Blue Mountain High, she was the 2006 state champion in both the 50 free and the 100 free, after posting runner-up finishes in both races in both of her sophomore and junior years. Guers has swum 23.62 for the 50 free, 51.91 for the 100, and timed 1:51.38 in an exhibition heat of the 200 free at last year’s ACC Championships. Stevi Anderson (Vineland, N.J.) was an eight-time prep All-American and nine-time state champion for Vineland High. Part of the NISCA national-record holding 400m free relay (short-course meters), Anderson also hold state records in the 200 and 400-yard free relays. She has swum 24.28 in the 50 free, and 53.64 in the 100 free.

Kristin Fimian (Oakton, Va.) was a Junior National qualifier for Machine Aquatics and coach Christian Do, earning Swimmer of the Year honors from the club in 2005-06.
