Men’s Soccer Time Change for Penn State Classic

The Tribe will battle host Penn State at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7.

Williamsburg - The William and Mary men’s soccer team’s opening match of the Penn State Classic on Sept. 7 against the host Nittany Lions has been moved to 5:30 p.m. The match was originally scheduled for 7:30 p.m., at Jeffery Field in University Park, Pa., but will now be played two hours earlier.

It will be the Tribe’s first visit to Happy Valley since dropping a 1-0 overtime affair to the then-No. 15 Nittany Lions during the 2002 NCAA Tournament Round of 16. The College will also meet Big Ten foe Ohio State on Sunday, Sept. 9, at noon during the classic. It will be the first match between the Tribe and Buckeyes since a 3-1 W&M win at the 1995 Tribe Invitational in Williamsburg.

The College will open the 2007 regular season at the friendly confines of Albert-Daly Field when it hosts Elon on Sat-urday, Sept. 1. The match is slated for a 7 p.m. kick off and can be heard live over the Internet at TribeAthletics.com.
