Men’s Cross Country Opens 2007 Campaign

EARLYSVILLE, VA - William and Mary’s men’s cross country team opened its 2007 season this morning at the Lou Onesty Invitational, placing fourth out of nine teams. Duke won the event with a score of 35-55 over the host Cavaliers of the University of Virginia. Virginia’s Andy Biladeau ran 24:25.8 to claim a 12-second victory in the eight-kilometer race.

The Tribe was led by true freshman Tom Burke (Edina, Minn.), who ran 25:59 for 21st in his first collegiate race. Junior Karl Lang (Oak Hill, Va.) ran second for the College, finishing 27th in 26:16.4. Sophomore Cabell Rosanelli (Richmond, Va.) ran 26:34.4 to finish 38th, and true freshman Pete Asaro (Gloucester, Mass.) (45th, 26:52.6) and redshirt-freshman Robert Sagar (Alexandria, Va.) (54th, 27:07.8) closed out the scoring for the Tribe. Finishing in sixth and seventh for the Green and Gold were junior Bryce Wilk (Milbrook, N.Y.) and freshman Brian Sklodowski (Newark, Del.).

W&M returns to action at the end of the month, hosting the Colonial Inter-Regional Challenge on September 29 at Eastern State Hospital.
