Meghan Walker Selected as CAA Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. - After earning most valuable player accolades at the VCU/Ewing Sports Invitational during the weekend, William and Mary junior goalkeeper Meghan Walker has been selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week.

Walker was instrumental in helping the Tribe (4-2) take home top honors at the tournament, as she and the W&M defensive unit shutout the opposition in both matches. Walker’s best effort came in the 1-0 victory against No. 2 North Carolina, the defending national champion, when she recorded eight saves.

Thus far this season, the Wallingford, Pa., native is allowing just 0.67 goals per game and has posted three shutouts.

The Tribe will look to extend its three-match winning streak when it hosts Albany on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
