W&M Ranked 24th by Soccer America

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - After defeating No. 2 North Carolina and claiming top honors at the VCU/Ewing Sports Invitational during the weekend, the William and Mary women’s soccer team is ranked 24th by Soccer America this week.

In addition to knocking off the defending national champions, 1-0, the Green and Gold also blanked Navy, 4-0. Zimmeck tallied three goals during the weekend’s action, including the game-winners in both contests. Sophomore Sarah Quinlan scored a pair of goals versus Navy, while senior Emily Kittleson provided assists on three of the Tribe’s five scores. Junior goalkeeper Meghan Walker was selected as the event’s most valuable player, while Zimmeck, Danielle Collins and Abby Lauer joined her on the all-tournament team.

W&M is currently on a three-match winning streak and has posted shutouts in each of the victories. Thus far this season, the College has blanked four of its six opponents.

The Tribe will return to action when it hosts Albany on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
