Meghan Walker Selected as the NSCAA National Player of the Week

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The honors continue to roll in for William and Mary junior goalkeeper Meghan Walker, as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) has selected her as the National Player of the Week. After a pair of outstanding performances at the VCU/Ewing Sports Invitational last weekend, Walker had previously been chosen to the Soccer Buzz Elite Team of the Week and was named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week.

Walker registered seven saves and posted a shutout in the 1-0 victory against second-ranked North Carolina on Sunday, while she tallied one save in the 4-0 win versus Navy on Friday. For her efforts, she was honored as the event’s most valuable player.

On the season, the Wallingford, Pa., native is allowing just 0.67 goals per match and has registered three shutouts.

The 24th-ranked Tribe will look to extend its three-match winning streak tonight when it hosts Albany at 7 p.m.
