Kim Mount and Ginny Bray Earn CAA Weekly Honors

RICHMOND, VA. - After a series of impressive performances last week, junior Kim Mount and freshman Ginny Bray have been honored by the Colonial Athletic Association. Mount was selected as the CAA Co-Player of the Week, while Bray was honored as the conference’s Rookie of the Week.

Mount averaged 14.57 assists per game in the triumphs at UNC Wilmington and Georgia State. Her best performance came against the Seahawks when she dished out 53 assists and nearly equaled a school record for assists in a three-game match (56). The Corte Madera, Calif., native followed up that impressive showing with a double-double the following night against the Panthers, recording 49 assists and 10 digs.

Bray also played incredibly well and finished the week averaging 3.3 kills per game on a .349 hitting percentage (33-11-63). Additionally, she registered 0.8 blocks per game. Against Norfolk State, Bray totaled 12 kills on .409 hitting (12-3-22), while she tallied 15 put-aways at UNCW. In the final match of the weekend, the Cary, N.C., native provided seven total blocks and six kills on .357 hitting (6-1-14) at GSU.

W&M is off to a 2-0 start in conference play and has won three consecutive matches. The Tribe will return to action when it hosts VCU on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
