Claire Zimmeck Earns Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week Honors

Zimmeck earned the honor twice last season

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - After leading the William and Mary women’s soccer team to a pair of conference victories last weekend, junior forward Claire Zimmeck has been selected to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week. The honor marks the third time she has earned the award during her career.

In addition to the national recognition, Zimmeck was also selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week after scoring a pair of goals in the triumphs against Drexel and Delaware. The Fairfax, Va., native tallied the game-winner versus the Dragons, while she registered the initial goal in W&M’s 2-1 victory against the Blue Hens. Zimmeck recorded 12 shots in the two contests.

Zimmeck is tied for the league lead in goals (seven), while her five game-winners rank first in the conference. Additionally, she leads the CAA in shots (39) and ranks tied for third in points (14).

The Tribe (7-3, 2-0) will return to action again next weekend with road contests at Hofstra and Northeastern.
