Men’s Cross Country Ranked 16th in Latest National Poll

NEW ORLEANS, LA - The William and Mary men’s cross country fell three spots in the national rankings this week, dropping to No. 16 after being upset by then-16th Georgetown in the Colonial Inter-Regional on Saturday. The Hoyas used the victory to rise to No. 12. Oregon took over the top spot in the USTFCCCA poll after being previous-No. 1 Wisconsin at the Bill Dellinger Invitational.

William and Mary remained second in the Southeast Region behind No. 10 North Carolina State. No. 17 Louisville is third in the region, and No. 29 Virginia is fourth ahead of Virginia Tech. N.C. State has won the Southeast Region title in seven of the last ten years, and finished second twice.

The Tribe returns to action on October 13 at the Pre-National Invitational, in Terre Haute, Indiana. On that same day, those runners who don’t make the trip out will compete in Williamsburg at the Tribe Open.
