Tribe Duo Falls in Round of 16 at the All-American Championships

Alex Cojanu and Keziel Juneau upset the No. 2-ranked team nationally in the opening round of the event.

Williamsburg - One day after upsetting the No. 2-ranked team, the William and Mary men’s tennis duo of senior Alex Cojanu and sophomore Keziel Juneau saw its run at the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Doubles Championship come to a close. The Tribe tandem fell to the No. 20-ranked Mississippi pair of Jonas Berg and Erling Tveit in the round of 16. The University of Tulsa is hosting the All-American Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

On Thursday night, Cojanu and Juneau upset No. 2-ranked Matt Burch and Blake Muller of Stanford, 9-7, in the opening round of the tournament. The Tribe pair fell to Berg and Tveit, 8-5, in the round of 16 to make its exit from the tournament. The 11th-ranked W&M pair fell to 2-2 on the season with the loss on Friday.

W&M will return to action at the ITA Mideast Regional Championships in Charlottesville, Va., Oct. 18-22. Last season, Cojanu and then-senior Colin O’Brien won the Mideast Region Doubles Championship, garnering a spot in the ITA National Indoor Championships.
